By BARBARA MURPHY Associated PressA new CBS News poll finds Trump’s approval rating at its lowest point since the first GOP presidential debate.
The survey found that 43% of Americans now approve of the job Trump is doing, down from 57% in July.
Fifty-four percent disapprove.
The numbers were all below the historic lows seen in late March and early April.
That time period was also characterized by a dramatic drop in the numbers of Americans who were very or somewhat likely to vote for Trump.

The poll shows 45% of Republicans approve of Trump, up from 41% in April.
Forty-one percent disapprove of Trump’s job performance, a new high for disapproval of Trump.
Sixty-four of the 50 states and the District of Columbia are rated as solidly Republican, according to CBS News exit polls.
